Nano Outdoors Aqua Defog Brush Pen
User Guide
Our ultra-durable nano-formulated anti-fog brush pen both functions and is maintained distinctly differently from other gel and spray-based defog products on the market. Please read the content on this page carefully to ensure a hassle-free, fog-free experience.
Directions for Use
The defog coating should only be applied to the inside of lenses. Applying it to the outside of lenses will not be beneficial and may damage the original UV and mirror coatings.
Avoid direct contact of the brush with water, as the defog coating may not adhere to your lenses.
Before applying our defog solution for the first time, it is strongly recommended to clean your lenses by finger- and/or nail-rubbing the surface with soap to remove any built-up grease. Rinse off the soap thoroughly, and then dry the inside of the lenses with the provided lint-free fabric sheet. Be sure to remove water trapped around the edges of the lenses. It is fine if some residues of the manufacturer's anti-fog coating remain on the lenses.
To apply the defog coating, press and release the button at the end of the pen one or more times to pump the defog solution onto the brush. Then, brush a thin layer of the solution over the entire inside of the dry lenses. As soon as the coating dries, rinse it with plenty of water, and you should see a water film over the coated areas. With that water film, put on your goggles to enjoy a fog-free experience.
Coating touch-ups or patching: In the case of incomplete brushing coverage or grease deposits over time, you might notice fog forming on a small spot of the lenses. Simply touch up the fogged area without removing the existing coating. Apply the touch-up directly onto wet lenses, starting from the center of the affected area. The defog solution will push the surrounding water away, preventing the brush from making contact with it. Wait until the patch is dry before wetting the goggles again.
Application and Maintenance Tips:
Recap the brush right after use to prevent it from drying out.
The coating will not prevent fog formation if it is not wet with water before wearing; Gently pour out water from eyecups to leave a thicker water film on lenses for the best fog-free experience.
Gently dampen the brush with the defog solution to apply a thin coating for fast drying (~1 minute). Avoid leaving noticeable brush strokes, as the areas between the stroke lines may not be coated.
If excessive defog solution is pumped onto the brush, remove the excess by brushing it against your hand. Yes, it is safe to do so.
For kids who are more likely to touch the inside of lenses, apply a thicker coating to make it finger-rubbing resistant. However, be aware that grease from fingers can shorten the effective time of the defog coating. A thicker coating may appear slightly cloudy upon drying, but once wet with water, it will turn transparent immediately.
While the solid coating remains intact through repeated washes, after several uses, grease and biofilm deposit may make it partially non-wettable and causing fogging in some areas. Then, simply reapply the coating over the entire lenses or patch the affected area.
After several applications of the defog coating, if lens transparency is noticeably reduced, consider removing the coatings by rubbing with your fingers and nails using soap, then reapply a fresh one.
